Also the HP Print and Scan doctor is useless since the computer doesn't find the printer.

If the cartridge is not working on the second printer after being in the first, then its possible the printer is doing something to it. It’s the printer can get a lot of info from those contact points, and if they’re damaged, they may not read or print properly.
