I'm having one problem with Repeater Bridge using DD-WRT v24 RC-6 (12/30/07) std (SVN revision 8733M Eko)nokaid. I have one PC that connects to the AP router, but can't see any other devices To get wifi coverage in the yard and the whole house, I decided to re-purpose my Linksys E1500. Here’s what I did: First I installed the DD-WRT firmware and with it turned my router into a Wireless Repeater Bridge. A wireless repeater bridge essentially does two things: 1. It connects to your existing wifi network (xxx) as a client. 2. DD-WRT v24 was recently released and with it came a much more stable way of repeating the wireless signal through a repeater bridge function of the router. This allows the secondary router to repeat the signal of the main router and keep everything all on the same subnet. Nov 03, 2014 · Setup a Wireless Repeater Bridge. I tried to set up a client bridge in dd-wrt and didn't understand that one radio would be lost. In the dd-wrt setup, the client bridge config allows you to define a VAP (virtual access point). I thought this meant that I could essentially have a wireless repeater bridge, but I couldn't get it to work.
One of those features is the ability to reconfigure your old (or new) wireless router as a bridge and a repeater. Any router that DD-WRT can be installed on can be turned into a wireless repeater
